I decided to upgrade my safe room door a while back and was finally able to do so. After all, I have several items in that rooms that I want to protect and adding a stronger door would help accomplish this goal. So here is what I did to make my safe room more secure.
The vast majority of break-in occur through the front door. This is because most front doors in American homes are fairly easy for a criminal to break into. However, one can make a front door more resilient to would-be burglars by installing better entry doors. I recently did this and wanted to share my experience with hardening my home in this manner.
Home security is not achieved by installing one item that will magically protect your domicile against criminals. Instead, it is achieved by adding multiple protective layers that your home a less attractive target to a criminal. One way to harden your home is to install better entry gates, which is what I did a few weeks ago.
There is an under-reported story that the mainstream media has largely ignored. In a nutshell, the computers in the White House were attacked by the Russians which caused a shutdown for over a week. This is big news but Official Washington isn’t saying much about it because it would cast the Obama Administration in a bad light. However, this event has bigger implications than any damage sustained by an increasingly marginalized, lame-duck President.
Since the 2014 midterms happened just a few days ago, I had some thoughts regarding the politics of prepping. In a sense, this will represent the denouement of both the political season and the recent Prepper Fest AZ expo in Scottsdale.
