Just last week I wrote about armed citizens defending themselves in Detroit.  The other day, there was another incident where an armed citizen (a grandmother!) defended herself against two armed attackers.  This is just another example of good people standing up and exercising their God-given right to defend themselves.

There are a few truths that this episode lays out:

• The world is a dangerous and unpredictable place where criminals prey upon the innocent.
• Armed representatives of the state (i.e., Police) won’t be there when things go wrong.
• Its prudent to be prepared and armed in order to protect yourself.

More people are realizing these truths and acting accordingly.  This is encouraging as it signals the willingness of normal people to take ownership of their lives.  No matter your age, ethnicity, gender, education, job, or belief system, assuming responsibility and being prepared is crucial to survival.
