Several years ago I decided to purchase a Victorinox SwissCard Lite and add it to my collection.

I’m glad I bought it because it has proven its value over the years.  The Victorinox SwissCard® Lite is an award-winning product for a number of reasons.  Its simple and elegant design radiates über cool no matter what color is selected.  This card is as thick as a couple of credit cards yet packs eleven tools into this small form factor.  The quality of materials is outstanding too, both the plastic and metal components feel solid when used.  I have owned mine for over five years and have experienced no corrosion or derogation during that time.  This has been a delightful tool to own.

Since I do a lot of hiking and mountain biking, this card goes in my backpack most of the time.  Here in the desert Southwest, you sometimes need a tweezers to pick thorns and stickers out of your clothes or skin if you get stuck.  The scissors is surprising useful too, it is a compact albeit strong pair of blades.  The pen is a bit small for my liking but uses a pressurized cartridge like the Fisher Space Pens so it writes well.  I’ve used the pin to extract a few slivers from my fingers so I know it works well but I am not too crazy about the four-in-one flat screwdriver.  It is a compromise to be sure but the heads are rather small and of marginal use in my opinion.  With all that said though, this is a small tool that packs a big punch.

Pros:  Lots of tools in a small package, top-quality materials

Cons:  Screwdriver is only somewhat useful

I highly recommend the Victorinox SwissCard® Lite, it is a great piece of engineering and is a credit to the skilled craftsman in Switzerland who make it.  Get one, you will be glad you did.
